I am afraid I have to say no, it's not the same in Vietnam. Social networking is still new definition to Vietnamese professional in general. There are some networks in the city for specific sector such as marketing; advertising; or interest such as Vespa club; traveling group etc. but members of these clubs usually depend mostly on few leader or group founders. They are not that proactive in these networks. This is the most challenge for VNPBW project in the future, I guessed.

Right. You still need to discuss who to network, if you are going to enter into the professional world. Do you think the 'casual' nature of networking that we discussed is the same in Vietnam?

For cultural and creative workers, it is part of your marketing strategy and raising your personal profile. But dont forget that part of the discussion was about the issues related to a 'network society'. Autonomy is fine, if it really does give you some freedom...
