The All-Important Elevator Pitch

“In the real world, there are more ‘good’ deals than there is money. However, there is much, much more money than ‘great’ deals”.

“A well-articulated Elevator Pitch is ultimately more important than a well-written business plan. Your sale occurs when you are presenting your opportunity to your prospective investors, not later when they read your plan”

Ran across this article and found it very interesting and useful for myself. Hope you also find some good experiences thru Mel Pirchesky’s POVs too.

the elevator pitch is a great way to practice articulating your ideas and convincing people to listen. Poeple invest in people rather than business plans.

Practising elevator pitches during Insight Out certainly helped me a great deal in terms of speaking about my business idea and presenting it to people. It’s more important than we think.

I found elevator pitch practice is very effective as well. I have presented pitching proposals to clients number of times (usually 15-20 minute presentation) but never did elevator pitch before. This experience is interesting and useful. It would be great if we have opportunities to practice more often, do you think so?
